The cost of living crisis is impacting our small charity. Our gas costs alone are rising by 155%. Add in additional electricity costs, increased wages, higher materials costs, etc and it all adds up. Long Eaton Art Room is a self funded non-profit making charity which is dependent on small grants from other organisations and charities and on individual donations. We cannot afford to pass these additional costs onto our centre users, who are already facing their own cost of living crisis
How we’ll spend the money raised
The current energy crisis and cost of living crisis is having a massive impact on our finances. All donations received in this appeal will go directly into covering the running costs of the charity which will in turn help us to stay open, keep the heat and lights on and continue to provide our services at subsidised rates for the benefit of the whole community. Providing a warm safe space to meet with others and learn new arts and craft skills, improving wellbeing and reducing isolation.
UPDATE:
MATCHFUNDING FROM THE CO-OP
The Co-op warm spaces fund have kindly said that they will match fund any individual’s donations upto £250 per person per donation. That is absolutely wonderful news and we are thrilled. So for every pound you donate, the Co-op warm spaces fund will match it, potentially doubling our fundraising.
GIFT-AID
If you are a UK tax payer, if you select the gift aid option the goverment will add a further 25p per every pound to our fundraising at no cost to you.

An arts market celebrating the darker things in life. A collection of makers. Pagan, Viking, fantasy…
This carefully curated market is run by Fiona of Minifi’s Oddities, Elyssa of print is dead and Kim of Kim Fowler Illustration. Held here at Long Eaton Art Room in our former Lace Factory. This looks set to be a great market of all things dark and peculiar. We are very excited about this event and its just intime for Halloween too.
We are selling off some of our stocks of fabric and haberdashery supplies to help fundraise towards building renovations.
We have lots of amazing quality stock including: real leather off-cuts, upholstery fabric roll ends, hundreds of fabric samples and off cuts, lace, lace trims, cushion stuffing, wool on cones and in balls, buttons, beads, tiger tail, merino wool and so much more All at bargain wholesale prices.
Entry free for all, come and bag a bargain. Its the last one of this year, so the perfect time to restock to get through the winter months.
Come along & enjoy a relaxing morning of creative crafts with Lindsay & Angela. During these fortnightly sessions we will guide you through the craft activity, providing all the instructions & materials you need. We even clean up afterwards. As always we’ll be here for a coffee & a chat (maybe even a biscuit or two) while we craft away.
The session is open to absolutely anyone who wants to come along & have a go. If you fancy taking a couple of hours to do something just for you, or if you homeschool your kids or want to come along with your support worker, we’d love to have you. We truly believe creativity has a huge positive effect on your wellbeing.
